Married! Joe + Jean
Jean grew up in coastal Maine, but has hung her hat in the UK for the past 11 years, now living not far from Stonehenge, believe it or not! (she was telling us how bizarre it is to be running an errand and think, "Oh hey, there’s Stonehenge!"). Joe travels the world as a warrant officer in the British army…he has a story or two. After visiting Jean’s family’s camp on Kezar Lake a week or so before the wedding, it was easy to see why Joe and Jean decided to have their destination wedding—a home-coming for Jean—in lovely Lovell, Maine. In fact, the local word is that National Geographic counted Kezar Lake among "the three most beautiful lakes in the world." and the New York Times put Kezar in the top five! We can see why! We thoroughly enjoyed our day photographing their Maine wedding, and getting to meet friends and family, many of whom made the trip from England.
There’s no place like home… 🙂
One of Joe’s chums had a, shall we say, interesting way of making sure his suspenders fit properly. Much to Joe’s chagrin…they did.
Ladder Golf, Monkey Balls or Hillbilly Horseshoes, no matter what you call it…I’d never heard of it before, but it was a great way for Joe and the boys to relax for a few minutes before boarding the boat. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say they were the best dressed players the game has ever seen!
The bridal parties were both chauffeured across Kezar Lake to Pleasant Point Inn where the ceremony and reception took place.
Joe’s lovely girls, Melina and Jasmine.
Pretty sweet (literally!) custom-sculpted cake topper with a tip of the hat to Joe’s other woman… his imported custom, all matte-black Harley.
As far as we know, Joe & Jean aren’t known for being big dancers… shock and awe might be a good description of the reaction to their meticulously choreographed first dance!
